The SUV-S-8-1/2 handles a higher flow than the SUV-S-4-1/4, and unlike the domed SUV-S-4 sleeve, this one is open at both ends, fitting between two seals within the housing. It is a direct consumable replacement for the original Sabre sleeve.

Compatible system

SUV-S-8-1/2

End style

Open ended (open at both ends)

Material

Fused quartz glass

Part code

QJ25330

Position in range

Mid-flow sleeve, above the SUV-S-4

Compatibility

Compatible replacement, not OEM

Pack quantity

1 sleeve

Signs your quartz sleeve needs replacing

The sleeve has become cloudy, hazy or visibly scratched along its length.

There is a brown or yellow discolouration that will not wipe off.

The SUV-S-8's UV monitor has flagged a low-intensity condition.

The sleeve has done about 12 months of service, the standard point to renew it.

The sleeve on the SUV-S-8-1/2 protects the lamp from direct contact with the water passing through at this unit's higher flow rate, while still allowing UV light through the quartz wall to disinfect it. As scale and fine scratching accumulate on an open-ended sleeve like this, UV transmittance drops steadily, and because more water is passing through per minute than on the smaller SUV-S-4, that drop affects a larger volume of treated water for the same level of fouling.

WrekinWater supplies this compatible sleeve matched to the SUV-S-8-1/2's higher-flow chamber, built on years of experience sourcing parts for Spectrum Sabre and other UV brands.
