Product Description
Product Description
The Atlas Ultrasonic Flow Meter 1" (Model LFM-1) is a precision flow measurement device designed for accurate, maintenance-free monitoring in Atlas UV water disinfection systems.
Employing ultrasonic signal technology, this module measures flow without any moving parts, ensuring long-term reliability and no mechanical wear.
When paired with compatible Atlas UV controllers, it enables automatic Energy Saver Mode, reducing lamp power consumption during idle periods and lowering operating costs — an ideal solution for commercial, light-industrial and high-flow domestic water systems.
Key Features
⚙️ Advanced Ultrasonic Technology
-
Uses dual ultrasonic sensors to calculate real-time flow rate with exceptional stability.

Installation & Setup
-
Mount location: Install on the inlet side of the UV chamber.
-
Orientation: Label and LED should face sideways for accurate operation.
-
Pipework: Provide 10 inches of straight pipe upstream of the Flow Meter.
-
Connections: Use supplied 1" NPT adapters with rubber washers; hand-tighten only.
-
Power: Connect to the included +5 V DC wall adaptor (max 100 mA).
-
Signal: Plug into the controller’s IEP port or compatible module port.
-
Commissioning: Power up the UV controller; the system automatically detects and configures the Flow Meter.
Note: Avoid installing near electric motors, transformers or high-voltage lines to prevent electromagnetic interference.
Operation & Display
Once active, the UV controller provides:
-
Real-time flow rate (GPM, LPM or m³/h).
-
System state: Full Power or Energy Saver Mode.
-
Error messages for over-range or communication faults.
The Flow Meter also supports Energy Saver Mode, dimming the UV lamp after one hour of zero flow, and re-enabling full UV intensity immediately when flow resumes.
Maintenance & Cleaning
-
Frequency: Once per year, or more often in hard-water conditions.
-
Method: Submerge the flow tube only (not the sensor housing) in a commercial descaling cleaner such as CLR® or LIME-A-WAY®, then rinse thoroughly with water.
-
Re-installation: Use plumber’s tape on NPT threads; hand-tighten unions.
-
Calibration: Not required post-cleaning.
