Product Description
PA202 Pure Resin: Nitrate Selective Resin for Drinking Water
Pure Resin PA202 is a macroporous strong base anion exchange resin designed to remove nitrate from drinking water. Its nitrate-selective chemistry keeps working when moderate to high levels of sulphate are present, which is where nitrate removal usually gets difficult. It is supplied in the chloride form as clear, tough, spherical beads, ready to load into an ion exchange vessel built for nitrate removal.

Who it's for
- Private water supplies, boreholes and wells with high nitrate
- Drinking water and other sensitive treatment processes where nitrate has to come down
- Waters that also carry moderate to high sulphate, where a nitrate-selective resin is the better choice
- Topping up or replacing the resin in an existing ion exchange nitrate system
Check before you order
Resin volume depends on your flow rate, your nitrate level and your sulphate level, so test your water first. We stock nitrate test strips, and if you send us your results and system details we can help confirm the right amount of resin.
Why it matters
Nitrate is not removed by sediment filters, carbon filters or UV, and boiling concentrates it rather than removing it. Ion exchange with a nitrate-selective resin is the standard way to bring nitrate down in a drinking water supply.
Regeneration
The resin is supplied in the chloride form and is regenerated with sodium chloride (salt) brine as part of your system's regeneration cycle. Follow your valve manufacturer's guidance for brine strength and contact time.
