Why it matters

UV lamp output falls gradually over its life, often well before the lamp stops lighting, which is why the lamp is changed on a 12-month schedule rather than waiting for it to fail.

How to fit it

  1. Isolate power to the UV system and let the lamp cool.
  2. Remove the lamp cap and withdraw the old lamp from the quartz sleeve, following your system manual.
  3. Fit the new lamp, handling it by the end cap and avoiding the glass.
  4. Refit the cap and reconnect the lamp.
  5. Restore power and confirm the system runs normally.
