The 15507000002 (D1226) is a Clack distributor head with a 1" in/out opening, fitted to the base of the riser tube inside 900i format resin tanks. It's the component that retains the resin media within the tank while allowing water to pass freely through its slotted screen during service and backwash. If your distributor head has cracked or split and you're seeing resin escaping into your pipework, this genuine-spec Clack part is stocked by WrekinWater.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- Resin beads appearing in the softened water at taps or in the control valve
- The distributor head is visibly cracked or split when the tank is opened for servicing
- A noticeable drop in flow or pressure caused by a blocked or collapsed distributor screen
- The riser tube has become loose because the distributor head thread has stripped or failed
Why it fails / why it matters
The distributor head screws onto the base of the riser tube and sits at the bottom of the resin bed, where its fine slotted screen lets water through while keeping the resin media inside the tank. Constant flow, mineral scale and the abrasive action of the resin bed gradually wear or crack the plastic, and once the screen fails, resin beads can migrate up the riser tube and into the control valve and household pipework. A failed distributor head can also allow the riser tube to detach, which disrupts the whole flow path through the tank, so replacing the head restores both the seal and the media retention.

How to fit it
- Isolate the softener at the bypass valve and shut off the mains supply before opening the resin tank
- Remove the control valve from the tank top to access the riser tube and lower distributor head
- Unscrew the old, damaged distributor head from the base of the riser tube, taking care not to disturb the resin bed more than necessary
- Fit the new D1226 distributor head, checking the o-ring or thread seal is correctly seated
- Reinsert the riser tube and top up the resin bed if any media has been lost
- Refit the control valve, restore the water supply, and run a backwash cycle to check for resin carryover before returning to service
