Product Description
This is the actuator and venturi O-ring, part 1460, for Kinetico water softeners including the Aquablue, Supersoft, Premier Compact and Premier+. WrekinWater supplies this seal to reseal the venturi assembly that draws brine during regeneration, restoring a watertight joint without needing to replace the whole actuator.
| Part number | 1460 |
| Compatible models | Kinetico Aquablue, Supersoft, Premier Compact, Premier+ |
| Component | Actuator / venturi assembly O-ring |
| Material | Synthetic rubber O-ring |
| Typical use | Reseal after venturi/actuator service |
Signs this seal needs replacing
- Water weeps or drips around the actuator or venturi housing.
- The old O-ring feels hard, flattened or cracked when removed.
- Regeneration seems weaker, with less brine being drawn into the system.
- The housing still leaks after being reassembled.
This O-ring seals the venturi assembly inside the actuator, the part that creates suction to draw brine from the salt tank during regeneration. Because it's exposed to salt-saturated water and the constant on/off cycling of regeneration, the rubber hardens and loses elasticity faster than seals elsewhere in the system. Once it perishes, the venturi can either leak at the housing or fail to hold enough suction to draw brine properly, leaving the resin under-regenerated.
WrekinWater is a family run business based in Bettisfield, Shropshire, that has served more than 50,000 customers over 15 years and is rated Excellent on Trustpilot. As a Kinetico stockist we supply the correct part 1460 O-ring rather than a generic size, so it seals properly against your actuator housing.
How to replace it
- Turn the softener to bypass and isolate the water supply.
- Open the actuator or venturi housing according to your model's service points.
- Remove the old, perished O-ring.
- Clean the sealing groove and housing face.
- Lubricate the new O-ring with food-safe silicone grease and fit it in place.
- Reassemble the housing, restore the water supply, and run a regeneration to check for leaks.
