The 1234256 is the 3/4" male Noryl manifold fitted to Autotrol 255 and 155 control valves running on timeclock (non-metered) heads, forming the water pathway between the valve body and your household pipework. Unlike the metered version, this manifold has no internal turbine, since timeclock heads regenerate on a schedule rather than on water usage. It's the part to replace when the manifold itself has failed or when you're fitting a timeclock head and need the correct non-metered manifold to go with it.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- The manifold body is cracked or leaking at the inlet or outlet ports
- A metered turbine manifold has been fitted by mistake to a timeclock head, causing flow or fitment issues
- You're replacing a timeclock control valve and the original manifold is missing or damaged
- The manifold has been damaged by frost, over-tightened tails, or general age-related wear
Why it fails / why it matters
On a timeclock valve there's no need for a metering turbine since regeneration happens on a fixed schedule rather than by volume, so the manifold is a simpler, purely structural water pathway. That simplicity doesn't make it immune to failure though, as the Noryl body still takes the full force of mains pressure and repeated bypass operation, and cracking or wear around the seal faces is the most common reason for a leak at the base of a 255 or 155 valve. Fitting the correct non-metered manifold matters too, since a turbine-equipped manifold from a metered valve won't sit or seal the same way on a timeclock head.

How to fit it
- Isolate the mains supply and switch the softener to bypass before starting
- Disconnect the inlet and outlet tails or pipework from the existing manifold
- Undo the manifold from the base of the control valve and check the o-ring seating faces
- Fit the new 1234256 manifold with fresh o-rings, ensuring it seats squarely on the valve body
- Reconnect the tails or pipework to the 3/4" male ports on the new manifold
- Restore the mains supply and check all joints for leaks before returning the valve to service
