Product Description

The 1235341 is the one-piece flapper spring fitted inside the drain flow control assembly on Autotrol 255, 740 and 760 Logix 700 series control valves, holding the internal flapper seated during normal service flow and allowing it to open at the correct point in the regeneration cycle. It's a small internal spring-and-flapper component, but a weak or broken one throws off backwash and brine draw performance. WrekinWater stocks this part for engineers troubleshooting a valve that's misbehaving during regeneration.

Technical specifications

OEM Part Number 1235341
Type One-Piece Flapper Spring (drain flow control assembly)

Compatible With Autotrol 255, 740 and 760 Logix 700 series control valves
Material Stainless steel spring with moulded plastic flapper
Brand Autotrol (Pentair)

Symptoms that mean you need this part

  • A constant trickle of water to drain outside of the regeneration cycle
  • The softener fails to draw brine correctly or the brine tank isn't emptying as expected during regeneration
  • A knocking, clicking or hammering noise from the valve as it steps between cycle positions
  • Incomplete or inconsistent regeneration, with backwash or rinse stages seemingly cut short or extended

Why it fails / why it matters

The flapper spring keeps the internal flapper firmly seated against its port during normal service flow, only allowing it to lift and open the drain flow path at the correct point in the regeneration sequence. A spring that's weakened, corroded or has lost its tension can let the flapper sit slightly open under service pressure, which shows up as a small but constant leak to drain, or it can fail to open fully during regeneration, restricting backwash and brine draw. Because the flapper and spring are supplied as a one-piece assembly, a fault here means replacing the whole component rather than the spring alone.

Why buy this from WrekinWater

WrekinWater has been supplying internal Autotrol Logix 700 series components like this flapper spring for over 15 years from its Bettisfield, Shropshire base, drawing on experience with more than 50,000 customers to stock the parts that actually get diagnosed and fitted in the field. With a full range of Pentair Fleck, Autotrol, Clack and Kinetico spares and an Excellent Trustpilot rating, WrekinWater is a dependable source for the less obvious internal parts that keep a valve regenerating correctly.

How to fit it

  1. Isolate the mains supply and switch the valve to bypass before opening up the valve body
  2. Identify the drain flow control assembly housing the flapper, referring to the valve's exploded parts diagram if unsure
  3. Remove the housing cap and withdraw the existing flapper spring assembly
  4. Inspect the seat and housing for scale build-up or debris and clean thoroughly before fitting the replacement
  5. Fit the new 1235341 one-piece flapper spring, ensuring it's orientated correctly and seats fully in the housing
  6. Refit the housing cap, restore the mains supply and run a manual regeneration to confirm the drain flow opens and closes correctly at each stage

Frequently asked questions

We offer a 30-day return policy on all products. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

A weak or damaged flapper spring can leave the flapper sitting slightly open under service pressure, causing a small constant leak to drain even outside the regeneration cycle.

It's fitted to the Autotrol 255 series and the 740 and 760 Logix 700 series control valves.
