The 1243510 is the 0.33 US gpm brine refill flow control washer used in the refill flow control assembly on Autotrol 367 and 368 valves, including those fitted to WrekinWater ECO and ECOULTRA softeners. This small calibrated orifice meters the rate at which water refills the brine tank at the end of the regeneration cycle, which determines how much water – and therefore how much brine – is made up for the next regeneration. This is the master flow washer only and does not include the check ball, so it's intended for reuse of your existing ball or where the ball is not fitted to your system. It's stocked by WrekinWater as a precision replacement part.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- The brine tank is filling with noticeably more or less water than usual at the end of regeneration
- Softening performance has dropped and the brine strength looks weaker or stronger than normal
- The refill flow washer is visibly cracked, chewed, or has lost its calibrated orifice shape
- You're servicing the refill flow control housing and find scale or debris built up around the washer
Why it fails / why it matters
Brine refill flow controls are precision-calibrated orifices, not simple washers, and they set the exact volume of water that refills the brine tank so the salt solution comes out at the right strength for the next regeneration. Scale and grit in the water supply gradually erode or partially block the orifice, changing the refill rate even though the washer still looks intact at a glance. An incorrect refill volume shows up as weak brine, salt bridging, or a brine tank that's visibly over or under filled, and fitting a fresh, correctly rated washer restores the intended flow rate.

How to fit it
- Isolate the softener at the bypass valve before opening the refill flow control housing
- Locate the refill flow control assembly, typically housed in the brine well fitting or valve head depending on your softener
- Unscrew the retaining cap and withdraw the old flow washer, keeping your existing check ball to refit if your system uses one
- Fit the new 0.33 gpm 1243510 washer into the housing in the same orientation as the original
- Reassemble the retaining cap, tightening by hand only to avoid cracking the housing
- Run a manual brine refill cycle and check the brine tank fills to the correct level with no drips at the fitting
