The Performa 263 Easy-iQ is Autotrol's compact backwashing filter control valve fitted with the Easy-iQ electronic display, used to manage media filters such as carbon, birm or sediment filtration on residential and light commercial systems. The Easy-iQ control simplifies programming with a clear digital display compared to the older Logix board, while the 263 valve body handles the backwash and rinse cycle that keeps the filter media clean and effective. This is a complete replacement valve assembly, stocked by WrekinWater for anyone whose existing filter valve has reached the end of its service life.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- The filter valve won't complete a backwash cycle and repairs to individual seals or the drive haven't fixed it
- The valve body itself is cracked or leaking at more than one point
- Water quality out of the filter has deteriorated, suggesting the bed isn't being backwashed reliably
- The existing Logix timer valve is being upgraded to the simpler Easy-iQ display for easier programming
- The valve is old enough that spare parts for the board or drive are becoming difficult to source
Why it fails / why it matters
The Performa 263 valve is what routes the household or site's incoming water through the filter media and manages the backwash cycle that flushes trapped sediment and rebeds the media, so if it stops cycling correctly the filter loses its effectiveness even if the media itself is fine. Once wear or electronic faults affect both the valve body and its control together, or the existing board is obsolete, replacing the complete valve with a 263 Easy-iQ unit is more practical and reliable than chasing individual part failures. It also brings the simpler Easy-iQ display, making reprogramming backwash frequency and duration more straightforward.

How to fit it
- Isolate the filter at the bypass valve and shut off the mains supply before disconnecting pipework
- Photograph the existing drain, backwash and wiring connections before removing the old valve
- Where you're unsure of compatibility, have a competent installer confirm the Performa 263 Easy-iQ matches your tank thread and riser before fitting
- Disconnect the drain line and wiring from the old valve and lift it off the tank, taking care with the riser tube
- Fit the new Performa 263 Easy-iQ valve with fresh o-rings on the tank connection and reconnect drain and wiring
- Programme the Easy-iQ display with your backwash schedule or flow parameters to suit the filter media fitted
- Restore mains supply, run a manual backwash cycle, and check for leaks before returning the filter to service
