Product Description
This is the 12" post filter used in Pallas EF300 and EF500 reverse osmosis systems, fitted after the storage tank to polish the water immediately before it reaches the tap. It's an inline carbon filter that removes any lingering taste or odour picked up from the tank or tubing, giving the water a final freshness check before drinking. WrekinWater stocks this as a genuine replacement post filter for EF300 and EF500 owners who are due a filter change.

Signs your post filter needs replacing
- Water from the tap starts tasting flat, plasticky, or slightly off despite the membrane being fine.
- It's been around 6-12 months since the post filter was last changed.
- You've noticed a faint odour in water that's been sitting in the storage tank a while.
- You've recently changed the membrane or pre-filters but taste hasn't fully improved.
The post filter is the last stage water passes through before reaching your glass, and its job is polishing rather than heavy contaminant removal - the membrane has already done that work upstream. As the carbon media inside becomes saturated, it stops absorbing the trace tastes and odours that can develop in the storage tank, so even properly treated water can start to taste slightly stale if this filter is overdue.

How to replace it
- Turn off the cold water feed to the RO system.
- Open the tap to release any pressure left in the system.
- Disconnect the tubing from each end of the old post filter using the quick-connect fittings.
- Note the flow direction arrow on the old filter before removing it.
- Fit the new post filter the same way round and reconnect the tubing.
- Restore the water supply and run several litres to drain before drinking the water.
