Product Description
The Fleck 18064 lower seals and spacers kit is a genuine replacement set for the internal sealing components that sit along the piston shaft in a Fleck control valve, and WrekinWater supplies it to help softener and filter owners fix leaking-to-drain and internal bypass problems without having to replace the entire valve.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- A steady trickle of water running to drain when the system should be in standby
- Softened or filtered water tasting or feeling harder than usual, suggesting internal bypass
- Visible wear, flattening or splitting on old seals if the valve has been opened before
- Water use climbing on your meter without any change in household consumption
Why it fails / why it matters
Each seal and spacer in the lower valve body creates a watertight barrier between individual ports as the piston moves past them, controlling exactly which path water takes through the valve at each stage of the cycle. Constant compression, mineral exposure and simple age cause the rubber seals to flatten, harden or split, and once a seal stops gripping the piston shaft properly, water leaks internally between ports, either escaping to drain continuously or bypassing the resin bed so your water isn't being fully treated.
Why buy this from WrekinWater
WrekinWater has served more than 50,000 customers over 15 years from its base in Bettisfield, Shropshire, stocking genuine Fleck, Autotrol, Clack and Kinetico components including full seal and spacer kits like the 18064 rather than individual seals that may not match your valve's exact configuration. As a UK company (No. 11000488) rated Excellent on Trustpilot, WrekinWater is a reliable source for the small parts that keep a softener working correctly between full valve replacements.
How to fit it
- Isolate the water supply and place the valve into bypass
- Depressurise the system and remove the lower valve body cover
- Slide the piston out carefully, noting the order and orientation of the existing seals and spacers
- Remove all old seals and spacers from the piston shaft and clean the shaft and bore thoroughly
- Fit the new Fleck 18064 seals and spacers in the same order, lightly lubricating with a food-safe lubricant
- Reinsert the piston, reassemble the valve body, restore the supply and take the system off bypass, checking for leaks
