How to fit it
- Isolate the water supply and put the softener into bypass if fitted.
- Locate the brine valve assembly, typically housed in a small chamber on the side or top of the main valve body.
- Remove the retaining clip or screws holding the brine valve cap in place.
- Lift out the old 1600 valve assembly, noting the orientation of the seal and spring.
