NC448 - Hose to Speed-fit Connector - 15mm Push-Fit to 1/2" Barb

The John Guest NC448 adaptor lets you connect 1/2in bore hose onto 15mm push-fit pipe, joining a push-fit collet on one end to a barbed hose tail on the other. The barbed end is designed to be secured with a hose clip for a firm grip on the hose.

Hose and rigid pipe use completely different connection methods, so joining them needs an adaptor with a push-fit collet on one side and a barbed tail on the other. Using an undersized barb lets the hose slip off under pressure or flow, while forcing an oversized hose over the barb can split it at the join, so matching the correct barb size, 1/2in, to your hose bore is what keeps the connection secure.

How to fit it

1. Cut the 15mm pipe square and deburr the end before inserting it.
2. Push the 15mm end fully home into the push-fit collet.
3. Tug-test the push-fit end to confirm it's gripped and seated.
4. Push the hose fully onto the barbed end.
5. Secure the hose with a hose clip for a firm, leak-free grip.
6. Run water through briefly and check both ends before leaving the job unattended.
