Product Description
The 10081 is the genuine-spec 3/4" BSP male adaptor used on Kinetico twin-tank water softener control valves, connecting the valve's inlet and outlet ports to your household pipework. Moulded in Noryl for long-term resistance to chlorine and mineral scale, it's the same fitting used when installing or servicing a Kinetico twin-tank system such as the Premier range. Whether you're replacing a cracked or leaking tail, or plumbing in a second-hand unit, this adaptor is stocked by WrekinWater.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- The BSP adaptor tail is cracked, split or weeping at the thread
- You're plumbing in a second-hand or ex-display Kinetico softener and the original adaptors are missing or damaged
- The o-ring seal keeps failing because the adaptor face is worn or scored
- You're upgrading hoses or pipework and need a spare inlet or outlet tail
Why it fails / why it matters
Kinetico control valves connect to household pipework via a pair of 3/4" BSP male adaptors screwed into the inlet and outlet ports, sealed with an o-ring and a screened washer and retained with a bracket and pin. Because these adaptors carry the full weight and pressure of the pipework connection, the Noryl body can crack under over-tightening, and the sealing face wears with repeated disconnection for servicing. A damaged adaptor shows up as a weep at the valve head or an inability to get a watertight seal even with a new o-ring, and replacing the tail itself is the only reliable fix.
Why buy this from WrekinWater
WrekinWater has supplied genuine and genuine-spec Kinetico parts to installers and DIY customers for over 15 years from its Bettisfield, Shropshire base, and stocks the full range of Pentair Fleck, Autotrol, Clack and Kinetico components so you can match the exact fitting rather than guess. Orders are processed quickly and the business is rated Excellent on Trustpilot, which matters when a leaking adaptor means your softener is offline until the part arrives.
How to fit it
- Isolate the softener at the bypass valve and shut off the mains supply before disconnecting any pipework
- Release the retaining bracket and pin securing the existing adaptor to the control valve inlet or outlet port
- Withdraw the old adaptor and inspect the o-ring groove and screened washer for damage or debris
- Fit a new o-ring to the 10081 adaptor and lubricate lightly with silicone grease to ease insertion
- Push the adaptor into the control valve port, refit the screened washer, and secure with the retaining bracket and pin
- Reconnect the pipework or hose, restore the mains supply, and check the joint for leaks with the softener back in bypass then service position
