Sita 480 AL: 80W UV Disinfection System (85 l/min)

The Sita 480 AL is part of SITA's AL domestic UV range, manufactured in Italy to ISO 9001 quality standards and WRAS approved. Like every Sita AL system, it uses a 304 stainless steel treatment chamber and disinfects water by exposing it to UV-C light as it passes through, inactivating bacteria and viruses without any chemicals or additives.

AL models run on a simple power supply with LED indicators: a green LED confirms the system is working, a red LED flags a fault. If you'd like a digital day-countdown display and an audible lamp-failure alarm instead, the AL2 tier of this range (see the 460 AL2) adds that.

Why it matters

UV systems should be sized generously against your actual site flow rate — as a rule of thumb, the UV's rated flow should be at least 4 times your required or achievable flow, or you should restrict flow to no more than 38% of the system's maximum rating. We'd also recommend physical pre-filtration ahead of the UV rather than relying on the UV alone: a triple-filter setup (5 micron string wound, 1 micron polyspun, then a 0.45 micron absolute filter) is a common specification, with two absolute filters in parallel where higher flow is needed.
