Product Description
The QTZ30/55 is the replacement quartz sleeve for the Daro ECO-2, ECO-3 and ECO-5 range of UV disinfection systems, supplied by WrekinWater under stock code 30WQS. It fits around the UV lamp in these units, keeping it fully dry while allowing UV-C light to pass through and treat the water. These larger ECO models share the same sleeve, so one part covers the whole range.

Signs your quartz sleeve needs replacing
- The sleeve has gone cloudy, milky, or scratched rather than staying clear.
- A visible scale or mineral ring has built up along the outside of the glass.
- The UV monitor on your ECO-2, ECO-3 or ECO-5 unit shows a low intensity fault.
- It has been roughly a year since the sleeve was last changed.
Across the ECO-2, ECO-3 and ECO-5 range, the quartz sleeve carries a higher flow and lamp output than the smaller ECO-1, so any drop in transmittance has a proportionally bigger effect on dose delivered to the water. Hard water scale and iron settle on the outside of the sleeve over months of use, and the quartz can also dull from repeated cleaning or simple age. Because the lamp keeps lighting and drawing current as normal, a fouled sleeve is easy to overlook until the UV monitor flags it or water quality slips.
WrekinWater has supplied UV parts including Daro ECO sleeves to more than 50,000 customers over 15 years from its base in Bettisfield, Shropshire. Ordering the QTZ30/55 direct means the correct sleeve for your ECO-2, ECO-3 or ECO-5 unit, from a company rated Excellent on Trustpilot rather than a mismatched generic part.
How to replace it
- Isolate the water supply to the UV unit and switch off the power.
- Undo the retaining nut or union and carefully withdraw the UV lamp first.
- Slide out the old QTZ30/55 sleeve and clean any scale from inside the housing.
- Fit new O-rings to the sleeve before inserting the replacement into the housing.
- Refit the lamp and reassemble the retaining nut or union securely.
- Restore water and power, check the joint for leaks, and run to drain briefly before use.
