Product Description
The Van Remmen 312455 is the 120W LL control unit specified for the V160 and V200 UV disinfection systems, supplying and regulating the power the lamp needs to disinfect reliably. WrekinWater supplies this as a genuine replacement for the original unit on either model. It replaces only the control unit — the lamp and sleeve are separate parts.

Signs this needs replacing
- Neither the V160 nor V200 powers on when switched on.
- The lamp won't strike even with a known-good replacement fitted.
- No indicator lights or display response from the control unit.
- The unit hums but the lamp never lights.
This control unit regulates the mains supply to the 120W lamp fitted in the V160 and V200 systems, allowing it to strike and hold the output needed for effective disinfection. A failing unit can leave the lamp running weak or not lighting at all, so water can pass through the reactor without adequate UV treatment despite the system appearing to run. Because it carries the mains wiring, a fault here also has safety implications, not just a performance one.
WrekinWater has served more than 50,000 customers over 15 years from our family-run base in Bettisfield, Shropshire, and we're rated "Excellent" on Trustpilot. We stock genuine Van Remmen control units so you can replace a failed unit on your V160 or V200 with the correct part.
How to replace it
- Isolate the mains supply to the UV system and unplug the control unit before starting.
- Note exactly how the lamp lead and any sensor or alarm cables connect to the old unit.
- Disconnect the leads and remove the old 312455 unit from its mounting.
- Fit the replacement unit in the same position and reconnect each lead as it was.
- Restore power and check the lamp strikes and any status indicators work as expected.
- If the wiring isn't a simple plug-in match, or you're unsure about working with mains electrics, have a qualified electrician or water treatment engineer fit it.
