Product Description
The Van Remmen 312470 is the 205W LL control unit specified for the V170, V180 and V222 UV disinfection systems, supplying and regulating the power needed to run these higher-output lamps correctly. WrekinWater supplies this as a genuine replacement for the original unit on any of these three models. It replaces the control unit only, not the lamp or quartz sleeve.

Signs this needs replacing
- None of the compatible systems (V170, V180, V222) power on when switched on.
- The lamp won't strike even when a known-good lamp is fitted.
- No display or indicator light activity from the control unit.
- The unit trips a fuse or circuit breaker when switched on.
This control unit regulates the mains supply to the 205W lamp fitted in the V170, V180 and V222 systems, which need a higher output than smaller models to disinfect their larger flow rates. If the unit fails, the lamp may run under-powered or fail to strike, so water can pass through the reactor without being properly treated even though the system appears connected and running. Since it carries the mains wiring, a fault here is a safety matter as well as a performance one.
WrekinWater has supplied water treatment parts to more than 50,000 customers over 15 years, working from our family-run base in Bettisfield, Shropshire, and we hold an "Excellent" Trustpilot rating. We stock genuine Van Remmen control units so your V170, V180 or V222 gets the correct part.
How to replace it
- Isolate the mains supply and unplug the control unit before starting any work.
- Note exactly how the lamp lead and any sensor or alarm cables connect to the old unit.
- Disconnect the leads and remove the old 312470 unit from its mounting.
- Fit the replacement unit in the same position and reconnect each lead as it was.
- Restore power and check the lamp strikes and any status indicators behave as expected.
- If the wiring isn't a straightforward plug-in match, or you're unsure working with mains electrics, ask a qualified electrician or water treatment engineer to fit it.
