Product Description
This 1/2" drain line flow control (DLFC) disc is the exact replacement orifice disc used inside the drain line flow controller on Wrekin ECO and ECOULTRA water softeners. WrekinWater supplies this genuine spare part to keep the backwash stage of your softener's regeneration cycle running at the correct flow rate, protecting the resin bed and ensuring reliable, efficient regenerations.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- Backwash to drain looks noticeably faster or slower than normal during regeneration
- Resin appears in the drain water or the drain hose after a regeneration cycle
- Softened water quality drops after regeneration, suggesting an incomplete backwash
- The existing DLFC disc is visibly cracked, warped or missing from the housing
Why it fails / why it matters
The DLFC disc contains a precisely sized orifice that limits how fast water can leave the resin tank during the backwash stage of regeneration. Get that flow rate wrong and the resin bed either isn't cleaned properly, or backwashes so hard that resin beads are carried out to drain. Over years of use the disc's orifice can wear, distort or clog with sediment and iron, throwing the backwash flow rate out and reducing softener performance.

How to fit it
- Turn off the water supply to the softener and place the valve in bypass
- Locate the DLFC housing on the drain line elbow at the base of the control valve
- Unscrew or unclip the DLFC cap to access the disc inside
- Remove the old disc and any debris, and check the O-ring seal for wear
- Fit the new 1/2" disc the same way round as the original and refit the cap
- Restore the water supply and run a manual regeneration to confirm normal backwash flow
