Frequently asked questions

A duplex system has two resin vessels so one can regenerate while the other stays in service, giving continuous soft water — important for commercial sites that can't tolerate a hard-water bypass window. A simplex system uses a single vessel and briefly bypasses during regeneration.

Sizing depends on your incoming water hardness, daily water usage, and peak flow rate — tell us these figures (or send us a recent water bill) and we can help confirm the right resin bed size and valve.

This depends on your pipe size and connection type — our 28mm kit, for example, suits 1in-ported softeners. Check your incoming pipework size before ordering.

Most commercial-scale systems benefit from installation by a competent engineer to confirm bypass, drainage and electrical requirements are correctly set up — we cover installation across North Shropshire and can recommend an installer elsewhere.

Regular salt top-ups, periodic resin bed checks, and valve servicing at the manufacturer's recommended interval — heavier commercial usage means more frequent attention than a typical domestic softener.
