Why you might need this
- The original spanner supplied with your Hydra system has been lost.
- You're servicing a rainwater harvesting filter and need to remove the bowl.
- Hand-tightening alone isn't breaking the seal on a stuck bowl.
- You'd rather use a proper-fitting tool than risk damage with grips or pliers.
Hydra Rain-master bowls have lugs shaped for a specific spanner, not a generic tool. Grips, pliers or an ill-fitting wrench tend to slip on the smooth plastic or bite unevenly, which is how bowls crack or threads get chewed up. Using the correct spanner means the turning force goes exactly where it should, so the bowl comes off cleanly for cleaning or a filter change and seats properly when refitted.
WrekinWater is a family run business based in Bettisfield, Shropshire, that's served more than 50,000 customers over 15 years and carries parts and spares for a wide range of filtration and rainwater harvesting equipment. We're rated "Excellent" on Trustpilot, so replacing this small but useful spanner comes with the same reliable service as any of our larger systems.
How to use it
- Isolate or switch off the pump or supply feeding the Hydra filter.
- Relieve any pressure in the housing before attempting to remove the bowl.
- Fit the spanner's lugs into the matching slots on the base of the bowl.
- Turn anticlockwise to loosen and lift the bowl away for cleaning or a filter change.
- Hand-tighten the bowl back into place, then use the spanner for a firm final turn.
- Restore the supply and check the housing for leaks.
