Symptoms that mean you need this part

Why it fails / why it matters
As water flows through the injector during the brine draw stage, it passes through a narrowed throat that creates a vacuum, pulling brine up from the salt tank and into the resin bed. The orifice is sized precisely for the valve and system it's fitted to, so even small amounts of sediment, resin fines or scale lodging in the throat can restrict or stop the draw altogether. A worn or damaged injector can also lose its shape and no longer generate enough vacuum, leaving the resin bed under-recharged and hard water able to slip through between services.

How to fit it
- Isolate the softener at the bypass valve before working on the brine valve assembly
- Remove the injector cap from the valve body, usually secured by a small screw or bayonet fitting
- Withdraw the old injector and its screen, checking both for cracks, wear or blockage
- Clean the injector cavity and fit a new o-ring if the old one is worn or flattened
- Fit the new V3010 injector, making sure the size matches your original specification for the valve and tank
- Refit the cap, run a manual regeneration, and check brine is being drawn from the salt tank as expected
