Clack V3003-5 WS1 & WS1.25 Meter Assembly

The V3003-5 is the turbine meter assembly used on Clack's WS1 and WS1.25 control valves, the most common valve range fitted to domestic and light commercial water softeners across the UK. It measures the volume of water passing through the valve so the electronic controller can initiate metered regeneration based on real usage rather than a fixed daily clock. As with any turbine meter, wear, grit or scale build-up can cause it to under-read, over-read or stop registering flow entirely, and replacing the V3003-5 assembly is the standard fix. How to fit it

1. Isolate the softener at the bypass valve and relieve pressure before opening the control valve body
2. Locate the meter assembly, fitted into the valve body on the inlet side of the WS1/WS1.25 head
3. Release the retaining clip holding the meter cartridge in place and withdraw the old assembly
4. Check the meter housing and o-ring for scale, grit or damage and clean if needed
5. Fit the new V3003-5 meter assembly, seating it fully in the housing, and refit the retaining clip
6. Restore the water supply, return the valve to service, and run a manual regeneration or check the controller's flow display to confirm the new meter is registering correctly
