Product Description
The V3010-1Z is the venturi injector assembly fitted to Clack WS1 control valves, colour-coded "Z" to denote its specific flow rate. During regeneration, this small but critical part creates the vacuum that draws brine from the salt tank into the resin bed and then flushes it through to drain, so a blocked or worn injector directly stops the softening cycle from working. Supplied complete with nozzle and throat, it's a low-cost, quick DIY replacement. Stocked by WrekinWater as a genuine spare for WS1-based softeners.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- The softener regenerates but the salt level in the brine tank isn't dropping
- There's little or no water draining from the drain hose during the brine draw stage
- The resin bed isn't being properly recharged and water hardness returns quickly after regeneration
- The injector cap is cracked or the screen is clogged with sediment when inspected
- You can hear the valve cycling through regeneration but with no audible draw from the brine line
Why it fails / why it matters
The injector assembly is the heart of the brine draw stage - it uses the venturi effect to create suction as water passes through a narrow nozzle and throat, pulling concentrated brine out of the salt tank and into the resin tank, then later flushing waste brine to drain. Because the nozzle and throat are precision-sized to match the WS1 valve's flow rate, even a small amount of grit or scale lodged inside is enough to block the draw entirely, and the internal surfaces can also wear over years of use. Since the parts are small, low-cost and not designed to be repaired individually, replacing the complete V3010-1Z assembly is the standard fix.
Why buy this from WrekinWater
WrekinWater has supplied genuine Clack parts to installers and DIY customers for over 15 years from its Bettisfield, Shropshire base, stocking the full range of injectors, meters and valve spares alongside Pentair Fleck, Autotrol and Kinetico components. Rated Excellent on Trustpilot, orders are dispatched quickly, which matters for a low-cost part like this that can leave a softener non-functional until it's replaced.
How to fit it
- Isolate the softener at the bypass valve and shut off the mains supply before opening the injector cap
- Unscrew the injector cap on the side of the WS1 valve body, usually secured by a single retaining screw or clip
- Withdraw the injector assembly and inspect the nozzle, throat and screen for scale, grit or cracking
- Fit the replacement V3010-1Z assembly, checking the colour code matches the original part fitted
- Refit the injector cap and o-ring, ensuring it seats correctly to avoid air leaks during the brine draw
- Restore the water supply and run a manual regeneration cycle, checking that brine is drawn from the tank and drains correctly
