Product Description
The V3818TC-2TO4TC is Clack's current time clock control PCB for WS1 valves, superseding the earlier V3108TC part number as a direct replacement. It's the electronic brain of a time-clock (non-metered) WS1 softener, controlling the day and time of regeneration and driving the motor through each stage of the cycle. When the board fails, the softener typically loses its display, stops regenerating on schedule, or shows erratic behaviour that a manual regeneration won't fix. Stocked by WrekinWater as a genuine replacement for time-clock WS1 systems.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- The display on the control head is blank, frozen or showing an incorrect time
- The softener has stopped regenerating on its programmed schedule
- Pressing the manual regeneration button does nothing
- The valve cycles erratically or gets stuck between stages with no clear mechanical fault
- The board shows visible signs of damage such as corrosion, a burnt smell or blown components
Why it fails / why it matters
On a time-clock WS1 softener, the PCB keeps track of the current time and the programmed regeneration schedule, then signals the motor to start and step through backwash, brine draw, rinse and refill at the right moments. Control boards are sensitive to power surges, condensation and simple age-related component failure, and once the board can no longer keep accurate time or send the correct signals to the motor, the valve either stops regenerating altogether or behaves unpredictably. As electronic assemblies, PCBs aren't user-serviceable, so a confirmed fault means replacing the whole board.
Why buy this from WrekinWater
WrekinWater has supplied genuine Clack electronics and mechanical parts for over 15 years from its Bettisfield, Shropshire base, stocking the current V3818TC-2TO4TC board as the correct replacement for the older V3108TC part so customers with older systems can still get the right spare. With over 50,000 customers served and an Excellent Trustpilot rating, orders are processed quickly to get your softener regenerating on schedule again.
How to fit it
- Isolate the softener at the bypass valve and disconnect the mains electrical supply before opening the control head
- Remove the valve's outer cover to access the PCB compartment
- Note the position of every wiring connector - motor, transformer, display and any sensor leads - before disconnecting them from the old board
- Release the board's retaining clips or screws and lift out the failed V3108TC/V3818TC-2TO4TC unit
- Fit the new V3818TC-2TO4TC board, reconnecting each wiring connector in its original position, and secure with the retaining clips
- Restore power, set the correct time of day and regeneration schedule, and run a manual regeneration to confirm the valve now cycles correctly
