Product Description
This is an additional magnet bar for a Greenlife DN32 closed circuit filter housing, letting you boost the unit's magnetite-capturing capacity beyond the single bar it's fitted with as standard. WrekinWater supplies it for larger or dirtier heating systems where one magnet bar isn't pulling enough sludge out of circulation between services. Additional bars for the DN40 (two required) and DN50/DN80 housings are also available on request.

Signs you need this part
- The system produces heavy black sludge and the standard single magnet fills up quickly between cleans.
- You're topping up an older DN32 housing that's missing one of its magnet bars.
- A larger or more complex heating circuit is generating more magnetite than one bar can hold.
- You want to increase capture capacity to extend the interval between filter clean-outs.
The magnet bar is the working part of a closed circuit filter: it attracts and holds the black magnetite sludge that corrosion produces inside a heating system, stopping that debris circulating and wearing pump seals or blocking radiators and valves. A single bar copes with normal domestic-scale sludge levels, but a larger system, an older installation with more corrosion history, or a system that's recently been power-flushed can generate more magnetite than one bar can hold before the next service. Adding a second bar to the DN32 housing increases its total capture capacity without needing to fit a larger housing.
WrekinWater is a family-run business based in Bettisfield, Shropshire that has served more than 50,000 customers over 15 years and holds an Excellent Trustpilot rating. Buying the correct DN32 magnet bar here, rather than guessing at a universal part, means it's sized to fit the housing properly; get in touch if you also need bars for the DN40, DN50 or DN80 sizes.
How to fit it
- Isolate the heating system and allow it to cool before opening the housing.
- Close the isolation valves either side of the DN32 filter to remove pressure from that section.
- Undo the union and withdraw the existing magnet bar assembly from the housing.
- Clean off any magnetite sludge from the housing and the existing bar.
- Fit the additional magnet bar alongside the existing one and reassemble the housing.
- Restore the system to pressure, check for leaks at the union, and return the system to service.
