Why it fails / why it matters

How to fit it
- Turn off the water supply to the softener and relieve pressure with a manual regeneration.
- Locate the brine valve body, usually mounted on the side of the 9000 valve or on the brine line connection.
- Remove the retaining screws or clip and withdraw the brine valve piston assembly.
- Wipe out any salt sediment or grit from inside the brine valve body before fitting the new part.
- Fit the FL24526 piston assembly in the same orientation as the original and refit the housing.
- Restore the water supply and run a manual brine draw cycle to confirm the tank draws down and refills correctly.
