Product Description

The Fleck 13398-10 is the genuine brass yoke/manifold (1" BSPF female) for Fleck 5600 and 5800 valves — a heavy-duty upgrade over the standard plastic yoke supplied as original equipment. It's the part behind searches for "Fleck manifold leaking", "Fleck brass yoke" or "Fleck 5600 pipework connection". Genuine Pentair Fleck part, stocked by WrekinWater.

Brand Pentair / Fleck

Symptoms that mean you need this part

  • A cracked or leaking plastic manifold — this is the single most common leak point on a Fleck softener
  • Yellowing, brittle plastic on an older installation, especially near the mounting screws
  • You've already replaced the plastic manifold once and want a longer-term fix rather than repeating the job

Why it fails / why it matters

The manifold takes the full torque of your pipework connections every time it's tightened, plus ongoing stress from water hammer and thermal movement in the pipework. Plastic yokes are the most common softener leak point for exactly this reason — a slightly over-tightened fitting or a knock during installation is often enough to start a hairline crack that shows up as a slow leak months later. Brass resists this kind of stress and doesn't degrade with age or UV exposure the way plastic does, so it's worth considering as an upgrade at replacement time rather than a straight like-for-like swap.

Why buy this from WrekinWater

We stock both the standard plastic yoke and this brass upgrade, and we'll always tell customers honestly when the brass version is worth the extra cost — usually when a plastic yoke has already failed once. 15 years of straight advice on Fleck spares, rated Excellent on Trustpilot, UK stock.

How to fit it

  1. Bypass the valve and relieve pressure.
  2. Remove the retaining clips holding the old yoke to the valve body.
  3. Disconnect the isolating valves/tails from the old yoke.
  4. Transfer the tails and O-rings onto the new brass yoke (renew the O-rings if there's any doubt about their condition).
  5. Refit the yoke to the valve body with the retaining clips, then reconnect the tails.
  6. Restore pressure slowly and check both ports carefully for leaks before leaving the installation unattended.

Frequently asked questions

We offer a 30-day return policy on all products. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

If you've already had a plastic yoke crack, or your pipework sees water hammer or gets knocked (e.g. in a busy utility room), brass is a sensible one-time upgrade — it resists cracking in a way plastic can't.

Yes, the same 1" BSPF brass yoke fits both the 5600 and 5800 valve bodies.
