Product Description
The Fleck 18024 tank adapter is the top-mounted fitting that joins a Fleck 3150 control valve to the resin or media tank on larger residential and light commercial softener and filter installations, and WrekinWater stocks it as a genuine replacement for anyone whose original adapter has split, cracked or started weeping at the join.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- Water pooling underneath the valve where it meets the top of the tank
- Visible hairline cracks or stress marks around the adapter housing
- A hissing or trickling sound from the tank head during service flow
- The valve sitting loose or rocking slightly on top of the tank
Why it fails / why it matters
The tank adapter carries the full working pressure of your mains supply every time water passes through the valve, and over years of constant pressure cycling and exposure to the minerals and chemicals in the water, the plastic can become brittle and the internal O-ring seal can compress and harden. Once the seal loses its grip or the housing develops a crack, water finds the weakest point and starts to escape at the tank-to-valve joint rather than staying inside the system, which is usually the first visible sign that the adapter itself, not the valve or the tank, needs replacing.
Why buy this from WrekinWater
WrekinWater has served more than 50,000 customers over 15 years from its base in Bettisfield, Shropshire, and as a stockist of Fleck, Autotrol, Clack, Kinetico and other major water treatment brands it can supply the correct genuine 18024 adapter for your 3150 system rather than a generic substitute. As a UK-registered company (No. 11000488) rated Excellent on Trustpilot, WrekinWater is a trusted source for the specialist Fleck parts that many local plumbers' merchants simply don't carry.
How to fit it
- Isolate the water supply and place the valve into bypass before starting any work
- Depressurise the system by opening a nearby tap or the valve's pressure relief button
- Support the control valve and carefully unscrew or unclip it from the top of the tank
- Remove the old adapter and its O-ring, and clean the tank thread and valve base of any scale or debris
- Fit the new Fleck 18024 adapter with a fresh O-ring, seating it square before hand-tightening
- Reconnect the valve, restore the mains supply, take the system off bypass and check the joint for leaks under pressure
