Symptoms that mean you need this part
- Cracked, fractured or visibly stressed valve body or manifold that no seal or piston kit can seal
- Persistent leaking from the valve base or drive housing that has already survived a full seal kit and piston replacement
- Erratic, stalled or failed regeneration cycles, with the timer not advancing or the drive motor grinding rather than turning smoothly
- Valve stuck in service or bypass position regardless of manual override, indicating internal or electronic failure beyond a wearing part
Why it fails / why it matters
Every softener valve is built around a moulded plastic body and a Chrono SXT control head that both age with years of cycling, heat, and mains pressure. Seals and pistons are designed to be serviceable, but the valve body itself, its threads, and the electronic controller are not — once these fail or crack, no combination of individual spares will restore reliable operation, and a full valve replacement is the only fix that resets the softener to like-new performance.
Why buy this from WrekinWater
WrekinWater has served more than 50,000 customers over 15 years from our base in Bettisfield, Shropshire, and stocks Pentair Fleck, Autotrol, Clack, Kinetico and other major brands, so we can confirm this valve is the correct match for your existing 2750/1650 softener body before it ships. We're UK Company No. 11000488, rated "Excellent" on Trustpilot, and can point you toward a competent water treatment engineer for fitting if you don't already have one.
How to fit it
- Because this is a complete valve assembly rather than a wearing part, we recommend booking a competent water treatment engineer or installer to confirm compatibility with your existing softener tank and bypass before fitting
- The installer isolates and fully drains the softener, and depressurises the system before removing the old valve
- The old valve assembly is removed from the resin tank, with the tank threads and riser tube inspected for wear or damage
- The new Chrono SXT valve is fitted and hand-tightened onto the tank per Fleck's torque and alignment specification
- The installer programs the Chrono SXT controller for your water hardness, regeneration time and salt dose settings
- The system is run through a full regeneration cycle and checked for leaks at every connection before being signed off
