Product Description
Bring your Kinetico water softener back to life with the Genuine Level 3 Assembly (PN 8915). This authentic replacement part is designed for the standard domestic 5/8" valve platform, featuring the 3/8" threaded drain connection (standard for 1/4" drain lines).
As the primary controller for the brine and rinse cycles, the Level 3 assembly ensures your system uses the minimum amount of salt and water necessary. It is a direct fit for the Kinetico SuperSoft, 2020c, Aqua-Blu, and Mini-KB models.
Expert Note: This assembly is a versatile "master" part. Depending on your specific model, you may need to swap your existing Regeneration Flow Controller (RFC) into this new housing to maintain your system's factory-set flow rates.
Symptoms: When to Replace Your PN 8915 Assembly
Is your SuperSoft acting more like a "SuperHard"? The Level 3 assembly is often the culprit when the following symptoms appear:
-
The "Brine Tank Flood": If your cabinet is filling with too much water, the internal brine valve seat in the Level 3 may be worn, preventing the system from cutting off the refill.
-
Softener Sticking in Regeneration: If you constantly hear water running to the drain, the internal pistons in the Level 3 may be jammed or scarred, preventing the valve from "clicking" back into service mode.
-
No Suction (Dry Salt): If your salt level never goes down, the venturi inside this assembly is likely blocked. Replacing the Level 3 restores the vacuum needed to draw brine into the tanks.
-
Hard Water after 1-2 Days: If the system cycles but fails to actually clean the resin, the Level 3 is likely skipping the brine draw phase entirely.
-
Crack at the Drain Port: The 3/8" threaded port can become brittle over time. If you notice a leak at the 1/4" drain line connection, a new 8915 assembly provides a fresh, leak-free seal.
Technical Specifications
-
Part Number: 8915 (Level 3)
-
Drain Connection: 3/8" Threaded (for 1/4" OD Tubing)
-

Compatibility & Installation Tips
-
The RFC Swap: Your original unit contains an RFC (Regeneration Flow Controller)—a small plastic button or insert that regulates the drain flow. To ensure your specific model (e.g., a Mini-KB vs. a 2020c) operates correctly, simply pop the RFC out of your old Level 3 and click it into the new PN 8915.
-
Seal Check: Always check the Quad Rings and O-rings between the Level 2 and Level 3 plates during installation. A small amount of silicone lubricant goes a long way in ensuring a vacuum-tight seal.
