L8-12v - Atlas L8 12v UV System

The Atlas L8 12v is a low-voltage UV disinfection system designed for off-grid installations, treating water drawn from a private source such as a borehole, spring or storage tank. UV disinfection works by exposing water to UV light as it passes through the chamber, inactivating bacteria and other microorganisms without chemicals. UV light can only work on water it can actually reach, so any turbidity or particulate matter shields organisms from it and reduces disinfection reliability, which is why a 5 micron pre-filter ahead of the L8 12v is essential rather than optional. Running a private supply without adequate pre-filtration leaves the disinfection outcome down to chance.

How to fit it

1. Isolate the water supply and drain down the pipework where the unit will be fitted.
2. Fit a 5 micron pre-filter housing upstream of the UV unit if one isn't already in place.
3. Mount the L8 12v UV chamber in-line, following the flow direction marked on the unit.
4. Connect the 12v power supply, keeping all electrical connections clear of any water spray.
5. Restore the water supply and check every joint for leaks before switching on.
6. Run the system to drain briefly once powered up, then confirm normal operation.
