Product Description
This is the genuine Pentair PBH-410/420-1.5BT-HEAD, a replacement head for Pentair's 10in and 20in PBH bag filter housings with a 1.5in connection. WrekinWater supplies it for anyone whose original head has cracked, corroded or won't seal properly, so the housing body itself doesn't need to be scrapped. It fits both the 10in and 20in PBH housing lengths, since the head is the same part across both bag sizes.

Signs you need this part
- The head has cracked, warped or won't seal properly against the housing body.
- The threads or clamp arrangement on the head are worn and no longer hold pressure.
- You're replacing an outdated or damaged head rather than the whole PBH housing.
- Visible corrosion or UV damage on the existing head after years of service.
The head is what seals the top of a PBH bag filter housing and carries the 1.5in inlet/outlet connection, so it takes the full system pressure every time the housing is opened to change the filter bag. Repeated opening and closing, along with UV exposure if the housing is outdoors, gradually wears the sealing face and any threads or clamps on the head faster than the housing body itself deteriorates. Once the head no longer seals reliably, the whole housing can weep or fail under pressure even though the body is otherwise sound, which is why replacing just the head is usually all that's needed.
WrekinWater stocks Pentair alongside other major brands including Fleck, Autotrol, Clack and Kinetico, and has supplied parts like this to more than 50,000 customers over 15 years as a family-run business rated Excellent on Trustpilot. Ordering the genuine Pentair head here means it's built to the same tolerances as the original rather than a generic substitute.
How to fit it
- Isolate the water supply to the housing and relieve any residual pressure.
- Undo the clamp or union securing the head to the housing body.
- Lift away the old head, along with the bag filter and support basket inside.
- Fit a new O-ring or seal to the housing body if it's due for replacement at the same time.
- Fit the new PBH-410/420-1.5BT-HEAD, reconnect the 1.5in pipework, and secure the clamp or union.
- Restore the water supply gradually and check the seal around the head for leaks before returning it to service.
