This is the genuine Pentair replacement bowl for the PBH-410 10" bag filter housing, complete with a 3/8" NPT drain port for easy servicing and draindown. WrekinWater supplies this bowl on its own for customers who need to replace a cracked, stained or leaking housing without buying a whole new unit. Signs you need this part
- The bowl has visible cracks, stress marks or crazing in the plastic.
- Water is seeping from the bowl wall itself rather than the O-ring joint.
- The bowl has gone cloudy, brittle or discoloured after years of use.
- The drain port thread is worn, stripped or won't hold a fitting tight any more.
The bowl is the pressure-bearing part of the housing, holding the full flow of water against the filter bag while the system is running. Constant pressure cycling and exposure to sunlight or heat over time can make the polypropylene brittle, and once it cracks or the drain thread rounds off, the housing can no longer be trusted to hold pressure safely. Left in place, a failing bowl risks a sudden leak or split under load rather than a controlled drain when you need one.
WrekinWater is a family run company that has served more than 50,000 customers over 15 years from its base in Bettisfield, Shropshire, and stocks genuine Pentair parts rather than generic substitutes. Buying the exact manufacturer bowl means it seats correctly on your existing PBH-410 head and drain fitting first time, and you get support from a UK team (Company No. 11000488) rated Excellent on Trustpilot if you're unsure it's the right part.
How to fit it
- Isolate the water supply to the housing and relieve any residual pressure via the drain port.
- Unclamp or unscrew the old bowl from the housing head and remove the used filter bag.
- Wipe down the head and inspect the O-ring groove for damage or debris.
- Fit a new O-ring if needed, then offer up the new bowl and secure it evenly onto the head.
- Reconnect the drain fitting to the 3/8" NPT port and tighten by hand plus a further turn.
- Restore the water supply and check the drain connection and bowl seal for leaks before returning to service.
