Product Description
This is the genuine Pentair support basket for the PBH-420 20" bag filter housing, sold on its own for customers who only need to replace the basket rather than the whole housing. WrekinWater supplies this exact manufacturer part so it drops straight into your existing PBH-420 bowl and holds the filter bag correctly under flow. It's the internal cage that stops the bag collapsing or splitting under pressure.

Signs you need this part
- The bag repeatedly collapses, folds or bursts even though you're using the right size.
- Debris is bypassing the bag and appearing downstream of the housing.
- The basket itself is corroded, bent out of shape or has torn perforations.
- Filtered flow rate has dropped noticeably even with a fresh bag fitted.
The basket sits inside the bowl and physically supports the filter bag, holding it open against the pressure of the flow so it can trap debris without collapsing in on itself. Corrosion, repeated pressure surges or simple age can weaken the perforations or distort the shape, and once that happens the bag can no longer sit correctly, letting unfiltered water bypass around folds or torn sections. A worn basket effectively defeats the point of fitting a new bag on top of it.
WrekinWater is a family run business based in Bettisfield, Shropshire, that has served more than 50,000 customers over 15 years and stocks genuine Pentair components rather than unbranded copies. Ordering the correct manufacturer basket means it locates properly in your PBH-420 bowl first time, backed by a UK team (Company No. 11000488) rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
How to fit it
- Isolate the water supply to the housing and relieve any residual pressure via the drain port.
- Unclamp the bowl from the head and lift out the old bag and basket together.
- Remove the used bag from the basket and check the bowl and head for any debris or scale.
- Fit the new basket into the bowl, seating it squarely on the base.
- Place a filter bag over the new basket, folding the lip evenly over the rim.
- Refit the bowl to the head, restore the water supply and check for leaks before use.
