Refillable Cartridge - 10in x 2.5in Clear (RCB975-CLEAR)

This 10 x 2.5 inch clear refillable cartridge shell from WrekinWater is an empty, reusable housing you fill with the loose media of your choice, such as granular activated carbon, KDF or calcite. The clear body lets you see exactly how much media is left and spot channelling or fouling at a glance. It's built to the standard slimline 10-inch format, so it drops straight into any filter housing sized for a standard 10-inch cartridge.

Why you'd choose a refillable cartridge

• You want to fill this cartridge with your own choice of loose media, such as carbon or KDF.
• Your existing clear cartridge shell has scratched, clouded or cracked.
• You're replacing a lost or damaged end cap and want a complete shell.
• You'd rather buy media in bulk and refill than keep buying sealed pre-packed cartridges.

Unlike a sealed pre-packed cartridge that gets thrown away once it's spent, this is a reusable housing: you choose the media, fill it, use it, then empty and refill it again once the media is exhausted. Over repeated refills that works out considerably cheaper than buying a new pre-packed cartridge every time, and it lets you match the media exactly to the water issue you're treating rather than accepting a generic pre-packed blend.

How to fill and fit it

1. Unscrew the end cap from the top of the cartridge shell.
2. Pour in your chosen media, leaving a small headspace rather than filling to the brim.
3. Refit the diffuser pad over the media, then screw the end cap back on firmly.
4. Rinse the filled cartridge under a tap to flush out fine dust before fitting it.
5. Insert the cartridge into your housing and reassemble as normal.
6. Run the system to drain for a minute or two before using the water, to clear any remaining fines.
