Water-King Sentry: A Non-Plumbing Water Conditioner (up to 28mm Pipe)

The Water-King Sentry is the entry-level unit in the range, designed for standard domestic pipework up to 28mm — the size found in most UK homes. It's the model Water-King itself recommends for housing associations and developers, because it's compact, tamper-resistant, and automatically resets after any variation or power failure, so there's nothing for a tenant or occupier to monitor or maintain.

Being fully waterproof to IP68, Sentry can be fitted in damp or exposed locations — commercial catering areas, shower blocks, external irrigation lines — as well as inside a standard airing cupboard. No plumbing, cutting, or bypass valve is required: the unit clips onto the outside of your existing cold water supply pipe near the water heater, and treatment runs continuously for as long as it's powered.

Installing your Sentry

1. Choose a mounting point on the cold water supply pipe, as close as possible to where water is heated and scale is most likely to form.
2. Ensure at least 6cm of straight pipe is available for each aerial pair — pairs can sit either side of a bend, on vertical or horizontal pipe.
3. Site the unit within 1 metre of a power socket and 45cm of the pipe to be treated.
4. Wrap the aerials around the pipe per the enclosed instructions — no cutting, no bypass, no plumber required.
5. Plug in. The guard chip resets the unit automatically after any power interruption, so there's nothing further to do.
