The 1234260 is Autotrol's 3/4" BSP male turbine manifold, the standard domestic-size manifold fitted to metered control valves that regenerate based on actual water usage rather than a timer. The internal turbine measures every litre passing through the valve, feeding that data back so the softener or filter knows precisely when to regenerate. It's the manifold to replace when the turbine has failed or the manifold body itself has cracked.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- The softener regenerates on a fixed schedule instead of tracking actual water usage, suggesting the meter isn't reading flow
- The turbine paddle wheel is visibly stuck, cracked or clogged with scale and debris when inspected
- The manifold body is cracked or weeping at the inlet or outlet connection
- You're replacing a metered valve and need the correct 3/4" turbine manifold to match your existing pipework
Why it fails / why it matters
This manifold's turbine spins as water passes through and reports flow back to the control board, which is how a metered softener knows to regenerate after a set volume of water rather than on a fixed timeclock. Grit and mineral debris in the supply are the usual cause of turbine failure, either jamming the paddle wheel or wearing it down until it under-reads flow, and because the turbine is built into the manifold there's no separate part to replace. A cracked manifold body causes the same practical problem from a different cause, leaking at the joint and needing the whole assembly swapped.

How to fit it
- Isolate the mains supply and switch the valve to bypass before starting work
- Disconnect the inlet and outlet tails from the existing manifold
- Remove the manifold from the base of the control valve, noting the meter dome connection if fitted
- Fit the new 1234260 manifold with fresh o-rings, seating it squarely against the valve body
- Reconnect the meter dome lead, then reconnect the tails to the 3/4" BSP ports
- Restore the mains supply, run a manual regeneration and confirm the meter registers flow correctly before returning to service
