The Autotrol 255-760 is a complete Logix meter-controlled valve assembly for water softeners, supplied complete with turbine manifold and transformer as a full replacement control head, and stocked by WrekinWater. It measures actual water passing through the turbine and triggers regeneration only once a calculated volume has been used, rather than on a fixed schedule, making it a more water- and salt-efficient control method than a timed valve. This is the part to order when the existing metered valve has failed beyond economical repair and the whole control head, meter and manifold need replacing together.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- The turbine meter has failed or is reading inaccurately, causing regeneration to happen too early, too late or not at all
- The valve body or Logix electronics have failed and individual spares no longer restore reliable metered operation
- The softener has needed repeated repairs and a full valve swap is now more economical than continuing to chase faults
- You're replacing an obsolete or discontinued metered 255 valve and need a direct-fit turbine-manifold assembly
Why it fails / why it matters
A metered Autotrol 255 valve relies on the turbine in its manifold to measure water flow accurately and pass that data to the Logix electronics, which calculate remaining capacity and trigger regeneration only when it's actually needed. When the turbine wears, the manifold cracks, or the valve body and electronics beneath them have degraded to the point where seal and spacer kits no longer restore consistent metering, the whole assembly is the more sensible fix rather than trying to isolate and replace individual failing components. The 255-760 supplies a complete, matched valve, manifold and transformer set so the metering is accurate from day one.
Why buy this from WrekinWater
WrekinWater has supplied Autotrol and Pentair Fleck control valves to installers and homeowners for over 15 years from its Bettisfield, Shropshire base, and as a stockist of the full Pentair Fleck, Autotrol, Clack and Kinetico ranges can confirm this valve and manifold combination matches your existing softener before you order. With more than 50,000 customers served and an Excellent Trustpilot rating, it's a dependable source for a part that takes your softener offline until it's fitted.
How to fit it
- Confirm the 255-760 valve and turbine manifold match your existing tank, bypass and riser configuration before ordering
- Isolate the softener at the bypass and relieve system pressure before starting work
- Have a competent installer disconnect the old valve and manifold from the bypass, riser tube, drain line and brine line
- Fit the new 255-760 valve and turbine manifold assembly onto the tank, aligning the riser tube correctly
- Reconnect the bypass, drain and brine lines, then wire in the transformer and set the correct capacity and hardness settings on the Logix electronics
- Restore water supply gradually, check for leaks, and run a manual regeneration to confirm the meter and valve are operating correctly together
