Product Description
The 3022012 is the genuine Autotrol top plate for 367 and 368 series control valves, the moulded cover that sits over the internal disc stack and houses the drive connection from the motor. It seals the top of the valve body and locates the disc assembly correctly beneath it, so a cracked, warped or ill-fitting top plate can allow leaks and let the disc stack sit slightly out of position. Stocked by WrekinWater, this part is needed whenever the existing top plate is damaged or when a valve is being rebuilt with a new disc kit.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- The top plate is cracked, warped or has stripped retaining screw threads
- Water is weeping from the top of the valve around the top plate join
- The disc stack sits slightly proud or misaligned because the top plate no longer seats correctly
- You're rebuilding the valve with a new disc kit and the old top plate is worn or damaged
Why it fails / why it matters
The top plate on a 367 or 368 valve does two jobs at once: it seals the top of the valve body to stop water escaping past the disc stack, and it locates and retains the disc assembly in the correct position so the rotating disc tracks cleanly against the stationary disc beneath it. Years of pressure cycling and UV exposure on outdoor or unshaded installations can leave the plastic brittle, cracked or warped, at which point it can no longer hold the disc stack square or seal reliably, leading to weeping at the top of the valve or a disc stack that doesn't seat evenly under the spring.

How to fit it
- Isolate the system at the bypass and relieve pressure before opening the valve
- Remove the retaining screws or clips holding the existing top plate to the valve body
- Lift off the old top plate and inspect the disc stack and spring beneath it for wear
- Fit the new 3022012 top plate, checking it seats flush and squarely over the disc stack
- Refit and tighten the retaining screws evenly to avoid distorting the new plate
- Restore water supply and check for leaks around the top plate join before returning the valve to service
