Product Description
This is the turbine flow sensor fitted inside the meter body of Autotrol 367 and 368 control valves, the small paddle wheel that spins as water passes through and lets the valve track exactly how much water has been used. It's a common wear item, since it sits directly in the flow path and is prone to jamming or damage from scale, grit and mineral debris. WrekinWater stocks this turbine, p/n 3027839, as a direct replacement for 367 and 368 valves.

Symptoms that mean you need this part
- The softener isn't regenerating on a metered schedule even though plenty of water has clearly been used
- The flow meter reading on the display stays at zero or doesn't move during use
- Regeneration is triggering erratically or at the wrong intervals for actual water usage
- The turbine paddle is visibly cracked, jammed or coated in scale when inspected
Why it fails / why it matters
The turbine sits directly in the water stream inside the meter body and its rotation is what the control valve uses to calculate how much water has passed through the resin bed, which in turn drives metered regeneration timing. Because it's constantly exposed to whatever is in the mains supply, mineral scale, grit and general debris can jam the paddle or wear its bearing surfaces, and once that happens the meter under-reads or stops registering altogether. A worn or jammed turbine is one of the most common causes of a softener that fails to regenerate on schedule despite heavy use, and replacing it restores accurate metering.
Why buy this from WrekinWater
WrekinWater has supplied genuine-spec Autotrol parts for over 15 years from its Bettisfield, Shropshire base, serving more than 50,000 customers and stocking the Pentair Fleck, Autotrol, Clack and Kinetico ranges so this small but important wear part is always available. The business is rated Excellent on Trustpilot and processes orders quickly, which matters when a faulty meter leaves a softener running on guesswork.
How to fit it
- Isolate the softener at the bypass valve and relieve system pressure before opening the meter body
- Locate the turbine housing on the meter body and remove its retaining cap or cover
- Withdraw the old turbine carefully and inspect the housing for scale or debris build-up
- Clean out the meter housing of any grit or scale before fitting the replacement
- Fit the new turbine p/n 3027839 in the same orientation as the original and refit the housing cap
- Restore water supply and run water through the system to confirm the flow meter is now registering correctly
