The IX PFAS is a refillable filter designed with advanced ion exchange media, specifically engineered for the removal of per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) — the "forever chemicals" now found in a growing share of UK water supplies. It delivers reliable removal of both short-chain and long-chain PFAS compounds that conventional filters, such as carbon, often fail to capture, with proven effectiveness against seven of the most common contaminants: PFOS, PFOA, PFNA, PFHpA, PFHxS, PFBS and PFDA.
Compared with carbon filters, IX PFAS offers up to twice the flow rate and up to ten times the capacity, making it a practical solution for cafés, restaurants, offices and other environments where water quality matters. As with the rest of the range, only the internal cartridge is exchanged once it reaches capacity, and it's returned through IX Water's UK-based regeneration scheme rather than discarded. The media is single-use and designed for cold water only — flush the cartridge for at least five minutes before use, and if mains chlorine levels exceed 2ppm, pre-treatment is recommended.
