WrekinWater supplies this replacement housing body for the Prosep SE1 UV disinfection system, with 1/2" ports positioned on opposite sides for straight-through in-line plumbing. Supplied unlabelled, it forms the main pressure-bearing shell around the quartz sleeve and UV lamp on the smaller SE1 unit. Use it to replace a damaged, corroded or leaking SE1 body without swapping the whole system.

Signs you need this part
- Cracking, hairline stress marks or discolouration visible on the housing wall.
- Water weeping from the body of the housing rather than from a union or seal.
- The unit has been knocked, dropped or over-tightened during a previous service.
- Small leaks persist even after fresh seals and gland nuts have been fitted.
Even on the smaller SE1 unit, the housing body carries mains water pressure around the quartz sleeve and UV lamp, so it needs to stay structurally sound. The plastic is designed to cope with normal use, but repeated pressure cycles, water hammer and general ageing can gradually weaken it, particularly around the port threads. If the body fails, water can escape under pressure and the UV system will need to come off-line until it's replaced.

How to fit it
- Turn off the water supply to the UV system and open a downstream tap to relieve pressure.
- Disconnect the inlet and outlet pipework from the existing SE1 body.
- Carefully remove the lamp, quartz sleeve and seals from the old body.
- Transfer the seals and quartz sleeve into the new body, then refit the lamp.
- Reconnect the pipework to the 1/2" ports and tighten all unions evenly.
- Restore the water supply and check the housing for leaks before returning to service.
