PRO2- Body 3/4" Ports Same Side (No Label) ) SE2-SS

The SE2-SS is a replacement filter head/body sized for Prosep SE-series housings, with 3/4" ports arranged on the same side of the unit. WrekinWater supplies it as a bare, unlabelled spare body to replace a damaged or leaking head on an SE2 housing while reusing the existing bowl and internals. Its larger 3/4" ports make it suited to installations with higher flow requirements than the SE1.

Signs you need this part

• You notice a leak developing around the ports or seam of the existing SE2 head.
• The body's threads no longer grip the bowl securely and it won't seal properly.
• The housing needs to be swapped from opposite-side to same-side ports for a pipework change.
• The body shows visible cracking, crazing or discolouration after long service.

As the pressure-bearing part of the housing, the body has to withstand mains water pressure day in, day out, while also carrying the weight of a full bowl of media or cartridge. Repeated pressure cycling, along with age and any exposure to sunlight or heat, can gradually make the plastic more brittle. Once that happens, a small crack or a stripped thread can quickly turn into a proper leak rather than settling down, so it's worth swapping the body out before it fails outright.

How to fit it

1. Shut off the water supply and open a tap downstream to release pressure in the pipework.
2. Unscrew the bowl from the old SE2 body and set the media or cartridge aside safely.
3. Undo the pipework unions connecting to the old body's 3/4" ports.
4. Fit the new SE2-SS body and reconnect the pipework to its ports in the same arrangement.
5. Refit the bowl and O-ring, tightening by hand or with a proper housing spanner.
6. Turn the water back on and check both port connections and the bowl seal for leaks.
