PRO3- Body 1" Ports Same Side (No Label) SE3-SS

The SE3-SS is the largest body in WrekinWater's Prosep SE-series range, fitted with 1" ports on the same side of the housing for higher flow-rate installations. Supplied as a bare, unlabelled spare body, it's designed to replace a cracked or failing SE3 head while reusing your existing bowl and internal cartridge or media. The same-side layout suits pipework running in from a single direction.

Signs you need this part

• Water is escaping from around the body's ports or the seam where the bowl attaches.
• The threads on the current body have worn to the point the bowl won't seal properly.
• You need to switch from an opposite-side to a same-side port arrangement for your pipework.
• The plastic body has become brittle, cracked or badly discoloured with age.

Being the largest body in the SE range, the SE3 carries higher flow rates and correspondingly higher stress through its 1" ports and threads. Sustained mains pressure, combined with age and thermal cycling, can weaken the plastic over years of service, and once a crack starts it tends to spread rather than stay small. Replacing the body at the first sign of a leak avoids a sudden failure under full mains pressure later on.

How to fit it

1. Turn off the water supply and open a tap downstream to relieve system pressure.
2. Unscrew the bowl from the old SE3 body and set the media or cartridge aside.
3. Disconnect the pipework unions from the old body's 1" ports.
4. Fit the new SE3-SS body and reconnect the pipework to its ports in the original arrangement.
5. Refit the bowl and O-ring, tightening by hand or with a housing spanner.
6. Restore the water supply and check the port connections and bowl seal thoroughly for leaks.
