The IX Steam is built for catering equipment where limescale is the main threat to service life — combi ovens, pasta cookers, boilers and other steam-generating kit. Left unfiltered, scale builds up on heating elements and steam generators, driving up energy use and causing the expensive breakdowns that put equipment out of action mid-service. A 5-stage process (prefiltration, silver activated carbon, sediment reduction, media-specific water treatment, and fine filtration) is designed to head that off before it starts.
It sits on the same reusable IX Variable Head platform as the rest of the range, so only the internal cartridge needs exchanging once it reaches capacity. The head's multi-stage variable bypass (5 settings) lets you tailor the mineral level in the product water to your equipment's requirements — and per IX Water's own installation guidance, café and steam units should be flushed on bypass setting 1 during initial installation.
