    Lock the head, use the flush valve to relieve pressure, twist off the spent cartridge and fit the replacement, then flush thoroughly on bypass setting 1 before reconnecting to the appliance, following IX Water's installation guide.

    Based on 180ppm influent hardness at bypass 0, the Medium cartridge is rated for 2,449 litres and the Large for 4,499 litres. Actual life will vary with your local water hardness and the bypass setting you run at.

    It's returned via IX Water's prepaid returns bag and QR code process for resin regeneration and reuse, rather than sent to landfill.
